Italian street fashion yo

So I went to Italy like over a month ago and I just now uploaded them fotoz. As in the rest of Europe, the locals actually put time and effort into their dress and don’t throw on sparkly sweatpants from Aeropostale to go out on the street.

I’m not a legit fashion blogger and was on a trip with the fam so I could not ask the people to pose for me. Instead I took photos of them like a creep. Here are my favorites.

I snapped this dood waiting in line outside the Vatican. Seeing well dressed men on mopeds is commonplace in Rome, but I loved it. I think his shoes are fabulous as well.

Normally the cardigan over the shirt thing is kind of dull, but somehow he makes it look really casual and cool. I think it’s the way he just flung the sleeves over his shoulders. And the brown belt is genius.

This dood is like American college students if they cared just a little more. I love the colors.

I spotted this fantastic older man when we were getting on the tour bus. Everything is great about this from the bike helmet to the great shoe/sock combination.

Orange pants are usually so JCrew, but somehow this guy makes it cool. I think the friend with the cigarette helps.

I saw this couple sitting on some steps in Venice and I thought they looked so great, especially together. They both are wearing gray pinstripe bottoms and brown shoes. I think the man’s trousers with the shoes and no socks looks fab. They look so simple yet put together, and I think they are a good representation of what Italian fashion seemed to be about.

And this was the standard American tourist in Venice. Makes me kind of sad.

thingssss

For some reason I have been all like OMG I NEED RED SHORTS and I’m not really sure why. I know such a purchase would be so impractical because it’s july and fall clothes are coming out and everything and I’m really looking at boots and jackets right now, but I want them so much. I would wear them with so many things.

I tried on these at American Apparel and I loved them. They are $44 dollars which is more than I would like to spend on a July summer clothes purchase, but I could wear them with tights and things in the fall/winter right?  I’m just afraid bright colored shorts will be all passe next summer and I will have to give them away.

Stretch Bull Denim Short Shorts

Speaking of tights and shorts, I saw this photo on the flickr group wardrobe_remix and I liked it a lot.

I cannot figure out how she did fishnet tights and heels and looks cute and not trashy. I want to be able to do this so much. I am envious of people who can make fishnet tights cute. I have not bothered to buy them because I’m afraid I will just look a little skanky. Also I am jealous of heels girls. Who isn’t? But its really my goal next year at school to dress up a little more. I will stick out a lot, but I think it is nice to dress up. I bought some red wedges I did not need at all and I want to wear them out all the time.

And completely  unrelated, lookit how cute this boy I pulled off Face Hunter is!

The blush or whatever he has going on it fantastic! It totally would not work in the states, but it works in Paris! Maybe it should be able to work in America.

I am always buying clothes and then wanting more

First off I would like to brag about a fantastic purchase I made.

Fabulaire shoes on sale $15 - Rack Room Shoes

They are 23403824 times better looking in real life, so comfortable (I walked around Charlottesville in them the first time I wore them) and so perfect for going out/looking nice shoes. I love them so much! And $15! I am the best at buying shoes!

Anyways so I just ordered two sizes of those Cheap Monday jeans in the previous post so now I will no longer be a jerk and will give you guys the link so go and buy yourself some $30 Cheap Mondays.

Okay so American Apparel is the bane of my debit card. I keep buying clothes from there and then they tell me LAURA! We have 9879 more awesome clothes for you to buy and I’m all like come on guyyssss. Of course last time I ordered from TrendyBlanks.com. If you click on the wholesale link you can choose from a limited selection of aa clothes for like 1/3 of the price. I bought a bunch of shirts, a couple leotards, and a pair of mesh shorts that I am wearing right now. If you use TrendyBlanks, put my email address (nillabean87@gmail.com) where it asks who referred you and I get $20 credit! It costs you nothing so do it!

Anyways, on to the things I have been looking at. First I saw this dress at AA and I was like, I like the concept but eh.

$34 Funnel Shift Dress

But then one of my favorite posters on newestwrinkle posted herself in it and I was like omgawesomedress.

But then she’s like all gorgeous and thin and looks fantastic in everything. But she makes me want that dress so much!

Also I’m getting new glasses soon and I really want these:

$50 Carbonlite Sunglasses

But they are like $50 before I go get lenses put in them (usually like $80) and I’m afraid this whole thing with the big frames will go out of style before my eyesight gets worse again and I’ll be stuck with mad passe glasses. I love them so much though. Not sure what to do.

This vest is so overpriced, but it is so practical considering the large number of oversized tshirts and plain dresses that would go with this. I’m so torn.

$36 Unisex Solid Rib Vest

It is not possible for AA to have pictures that are not ridiculous

Also:

AA, i can’t believe you are selling this. And for so much money.

$36 poplin reversible vest

Like, there is a whole rack of these for $3 at everyone’s goodwill. You can’t do that.

ONE MORE THING

I really want some moccasins. Particularly brown ankle boot moccasins. And everyone knows Minnetonka shoes are where you turn for moccasins. I can’t decide between these two styles though:

Back Zipper Hardsole

Minnetonka 482

I think i like the 482’s a lot better. I’ve heard Minnetonka shoes are mad comfortable. I probably have too many casual shoes, but whatever. These look so effing cute with dresses and things.

Okay this post got so long. I will stop now!
